Outdoor Track
Tim Jacques- 1999-2002
Accomplishments: Top returning weight thrower and only four-year member of the outdoor team. Also can run the 4x400 if needed. Was a captain and 3-time SWC shot put medalist indoors.
Colin Sheldon- 2000-2002
Accomplishments: Most experienced returning distance runner, can also be used in some field events as well. 3-year member of the 4x800 team.
Dave Harvey- 2000, 2002
Accomplishments: One of the most versatile athletes Stratford has, can do all the jumps and sprints, and has experience in hurdles.
Eugene Chest- 2000-2002
Accomplishments: 3-year pole vaulter, has been an important option in the hurdle events, as well as the triple jump and sprints. Another versatile athlete who can, and will, do whatever the team needs.
XC
Fred Wills- 1999-2001
Accomplishments: Most experienced runner on the team. Scored for Stratford at SWCs last year and was 38th at SWCs and 47th in Class M this season. Consistently top runner for the 2001-2002 team, and his leadership has brought about the most wins for the program in several years.
Member of 2001 SWC champion indoor track team. Key member of 2002 SWC and state runner-up baseball team.
Alison Janowski- 2000-current
Accomplishments: Has been the #1 or 2 runner on the team for the past two years. First Top 10 finish in a dual meet was last season, and this season was 6th at the October 2 meet, and improved nearly 30 spots at SWCs to 39th.
Sara Leventhal- 2000-current
Accomplishments: Generally has been the #2 runner but has had been the leader at state meets. Ran a 19:12 at Platt Tech, finished 43rd at SWCs and ran a 19:49 on the tough Wickham course.
Indoor Track
Stephanie Halverson- 1999-2002
Accomplisments: Four-year member of the team, offers valuble support for the team in the sprints and hurdles, not only in her contributions on the track, but also those off the track and in practice. Won the Most Improved award.
Tim Jacques- 2000-2002
Accomplishments: Emerged as the most experienced weight thrower on the team this season after learning the trade from several past weightmen. In shot put, has placed 6th (00) and 3rd (01,02) in the SWC. Also gained a 6th on the 4x240 team (02). Is the first Red Devil indoor track athlete to medal in shot put 3 times. Won the Most Improved award.
Sara Leventhal- 2000-current
Accomplishments: The best, hardest-working, and most consistently improving distance runner the team has had the last three years. Always a fixture on 4x800 and sprint medley relay teams, has a SWC 3rd place in the medley (01) and always gives her team strong performances in anything from the 800 to the 3200.
Colin Sheldon- 2000-2002
Accomplishments: Comes over from the rigors of football, a difficult transition for distance runners. Has been a fixture on the 4x800 team for two years. Established the school record in the 600m.
Supremely confident.
Fred Wills- 2001-2002
Accomplishments: Ran several events last year despite back problems. This year, led the 4x800 team to a 5th place at SWCs and broke the school record twice, as well as individually setting a new 1000m record.
Sarah Mitchell- 2001-current
Accomplishments: Is the current SWC record-holder in the 300m. Also was 4th in Class S in the 300m (01), and a State qualifier and SWC medalist in the 55m (01). Helped sprint medley team to 3rd place at SWCs (01). Team record holder in the 300m, 600m, and 55m, as well as sprint medley. This year at SWCs placed 2nd in the 600m and 5th in the 300m. Qualified for the State Open in the 600m.
